There are clear worked examples with callouts that provide extra support, and short exercises on each section so there are plenty of opportunities for students to practise their new skills. The book is designed to motivate students who have little underlying interest in mathematics. It will encourage a way of thinking that sees applying maths to any situation as an entirely natural thing to do. The sections relevant to each of the Core Maths papers are clearly indicated so students can use the book for revision as well as for initial learning.
For teachers…there are lots of ways to use the book. There are activities throughout the book to introduce new concepts. Teachers may find these useful as lesson starters and there are also questions for students to test their understanding.

How these exams are structured, however, depends on the exam board, but more on this later. Our materials are a work in progress and designed to cover all of the A Level Maths specifications across all exam boards. In the current A-Level Maths syllabus, all exam boards are required to teach the same content something which has never been a requirements in the past so you can be sure that all of our content is relevant to your studies.
There are some very minor differences between how the content is examined between exam boards, but to reiterate, the content is broadly the same. The A-Level Maths has started being taught in schools and colleges from September As a result, there have been a number of significant changes to the syllabus and to the way the A-Level Maths course is now examined.
In a big step forward, for the first time ever the content taught in A-Level Maths across all of the exam boards will be exactly the same.
It is only how the material is examined that will differ. The following table gives information about the exam format for each of the exam boards. AS Maths is a stand-alone qualification completely separate from the A-Level qualification and does not contribute to the final A-Level grade.
