Her english was so poor i could barely make out a sentence and promptly hung up again. What a joke vodafone are becomming. I of course will be leaving at my own convenience when i find a better provider for the occasional user. Let it be known I have been with vodafone since Having read the above, I can only wholeheartedly agree. This is a bare-faced money grab by Vodafone, and an undisguised attempt to get us low volume users off their system.
I have also been a customer for a good 20 years, but no longer. I rarely make more than one call a week: PAYG1 was ideal for users like me. Vodafone texted me on 7th January to notify me of the tariff hike on the 12th today but my repeated searches of their website between 7th and 11th January did not present any information of what the new tariffs would be. Thanks to other commenters for their suggestions. Voda can focus on its German homeland customers: good riddance to them.
I use my sim for Facebook but get on for about 20 to 30 minutes before it cuts off. I have payg1 and every morning for the last week I have been getting messages about the bundles I have. This is daylight robbery, the same is happening to my sister! Seems we are paying for their own message! A complete rip off, is this legal? Have contacted Vodaphone today about same problem. Apparently data programmes run in the background even if you never use internet on your phone.
As I only use my phone for calls and text, they have blocked data use on my phone which should solve the problem. I am having the same palaver with Vodaphone. My phone does only voice and texts, and those not very often as I have a perfectly good landline phone where I, and my wife, can chat for an hour at a time for a small monthly charge.
They say they have tried to contact me, but there is no records of missed calls [I gave them my landline number as an alternative, but that is obviously too easy for them.
Lovely people. Not even use it. That is why we chose this sim as we very rarely use it. Called 2 days ago to complain. Meant to call us back tomorrow. Doubt that happen. Not got credit back and still happening. Doubt in a hurry to fix.
I have a perfectly good desk-top computer for all else! I believe THAT is the real reason, apart from greed, for the major networks wanting to cut customers adrift. I did some research and discovered that they new purple SIMs would only work in 4G or 5G phones, and I like my old Nokia: it does everything I want it to! Good to find so many others as outraged as I am! We live in a signal blackspot, I cannot make calls or send texts from within our house, but usually get 1 or 2 bars when out walking the mutt once daily, so switch my phone on in case I need it for emergency use or to take photos, as it takes a minute to warm up.
What a flamin scam! What a shower of sh.. I think I shall have to change providers unless someone talks to me from Vodafone a. So glad I discovered I am not alone. What a money maker for Vodafone!.
I am confined to home being at risk from Covid so use my laptop for emails and landline for voice calls. I only ever use my mobile for Whats App. I opened my mobile this morning at 10 am to discover Vodafone had sent me a message at midnight to say I now had unlimited texts minutes and 50mb of data.
By 10 am I only had 47 mb of data left but that was the first time I had switched on. Have since tried to contact Vodafone. Not at all happy. Will be looking for alternatives. I am also glad to find am not alone. I found I could switch off the background data in some apps but not the Android app. Vodafone have refunded me and turned my data off.
I only discovered this yesterday when I made a ten second call late in the evening to check the phone was working and then got a message saying I now had unlimited calls and texts for the rest of the day. The phone I was testing is one I keep in the car for emergencies. A couple of years ago it proved its worth when my car broke down in the middle of the New Forest, ironically on the way back from getting it serviced.
I wonder how many other people want an emergency phone? I remember when the AA would sell you a discounted phone which could only call them and the emergency services for that very reason. Vodafone have form on this. They used to do a non expiring Data Sim which was ideal for infrequent users such as people going on holiday remember those. Then one day they announced that the data would expire at the end of the month. Trying to settle a problem with Vodafone is like trying to nail jelly on the wall — they are good at kicking the can down the road.
I am very upset also, I have not used my mobile for some months as been housbound for last year due to pandemic as I cerbral palsy, severe copd, demetia and other health problems, so just been using my landline and only was a light user emergencys for my mobile, I realise today it disconected and lost 23 pound and lost my number i have had 12 years, i more upset about loosing my number, I also have mild demetia and could still remeber my number, i am struggling to find and understand to get a new chip and package as so many, they say my number lost but i rang it and is not in use or given to anyone, disconected mid january, can someone advise help me with best light user pay as go please.
Another really cross customer of Vodafone having put over to Pay you go1. I want to change to another provider but want to keep my same number. Can anyone suggest another provider for pay as you go, please? Also, how do I do the change not being very tech savvy on this kind of thing. Any advice gratefully received. I have a Vodafone pay as you go smart phone and agree with all of the above comments.
